Accommodations

Our story technically begins in the Summer of 2021 when we met at an annual get-together hosted by the Waters family, but things didn't get set in motion for a few more months. Fast forward to Winter 2022, when best friends Joe and Gina Gruber separately invited us (Gina invited Meghan, and Joe Michael) to tag along with them on a trip to Disney World to celebrate their engagement. Disney World is known for being full of magic and wonder at every turn, but for us the turning point was when the group had a night out at Jellyrolls, the dueling piano bar at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. Surrounded by sing-alongs, dancing, and laughter, something clicked. Michael, living in Cincinnati, was suddenly finding all kinds of excuses to visit Joe who just happened to live near Meghan in Western Pennsylvania, but it wasn't until after another group adventure to New York City to visit our friend Katie that our connection became undeniable. Before long, we officially started dating in the Spring of 2022—our first “real” date being a Pirates game (though Michael, ever the loyal Cleveland fan, was just putting on a good face for Meghan’s sake). Despite living a few hours apart for the first year, we still managed to find opportunities to see each other and our friends, though after Meghan moved to Columbus in 2023, the logistics got a lot easier. With a shared love of adventure, we filled our time together with trips, visits with mutual friends, and the joy of being with each other's families. Our bond is characterized by an eagerness for new experiences, a love of family, and a shared sense of humor that keeps us laughing at the most mundane things, but most of all our shared values and deep commitment to each other. Our biggest adventure to date was in the Summer of 2024, when we traveled to Ireland. On the beautiful Aran Island of Inis Mor, near Dun Aonghasa (the very spot where Amy Adams gets engaged in one of Meghan’s favorite movies, Leap Year), Michael proposed and Meghan said "Yes"! It was an unforgettable moment, filled with love, excitement, and a bit of movie magic.

A classic, no-frills breakfast spot serving up hearty portions of pancakes and all your breakfast favorites. Perfect for a relaxed, filling breakfast. Make sure you check the address - three different very similarly named restaurants will come up when you search this. This is the one you want.

Northstar is an elevated fast-casual spot that offers a menu full of interesting dishes ranging from burgers to salads. Their focus on sustainability and flavor makes it a standout for brunch, lunch, and dinner. There's several locations in town, but the Uptown Westerville is our favorite.

A Columbus staple, the Original North Market is home to dozens of food stalls offering everything from local favorites to international cuisine. A great spot for a casual lunch while exploring downtown.

Don’t miss this cafe’s famous breakfast sandwich, rumored to be the best in the world! Not sure about that, but it is really good and has a gluten free option. Pair it with an exceptional pastry and coffee for the perfect start to your day.

A modern take on the classic American diner, this is one of our go-to restaurants. Cap City offers comfort food with an upscale twist. Known for its hearty portions, delicious cocktails, and retro vibe, it’s a great spot for a casual but elevated dining experience.

A trendy gastropub in the Short North, The Pearl is known for its elevated comfort food and fresh seafood. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for a relaxed but delicious dinner. Right in the heart of Historic Dublin and practically right on the Dublin Link pedestrian bridge. Great spot for a nice walk after dinner.

Ohio is really intense about its ice cream. If you want to see what all the fuss it about, weigh-in by trying the two juggernauts, starting with Cincinnati's Graeter's (our favorite).

The Columbus area has two premier malls as well as several smaller, more charming shopping areas. It's a great place to explore or squeeze in some holiday shopping!

A charming area with unique boutiques, quaint shops, and local cafes. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon of strolling and shopping.

Uptown Westerville

A premier shopping destination with a mix of high-end retailers, local boutiques, and great dining options. Spend the day browsing stores or grabbing a bite in this upscale, outdoor shopping district. Easton also comes alive during the Christmas season - great place to see some lights!

Easton Town Center

A huge mall offering a wide variety of stores, from well-known brands to smaller shops.

Polaris Fashion Place

This area combines old-world charm with modern shopping and dining. Explore local shops, artisan goods, and cozy cafes in a beautiful historic setting.

Historic Dublin
